This organ is in original condition save for minor alterations by John J. Smith
& Son in 1928. This included new stop knob facings, moving the swell pedal
and adding a concave, radiating pedalboard. At some point the façade pipes
were re-painted, covering the original stenciling. This organ is exceptional in
that it plays into two rooms, both the Sanctuary and the Parish Hall used for
overflow crowds. Shortly after completing this instrument Jardine began work
on the Grand Organ for the new St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York.
